Setia Haruman Technology Sdn Bhd (SHTech) has obtained the Application Service Provider (ASP) class license by the Malaysian Commission for Multimedia and Communication (MCMC) in 2004. The license allows SHTech to be a legitimate Internet Service Provider (ISP) in Cyberjaya and nationwide.

City Broadband network deploys Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) for upstream redundancy, which is a routing protocol that enables us to fortify City Broadband network for redundancy that will benefit City Broadband customers with high service reliability.

City Broadband is also offering Broadband-over-Powerline (BPL) internet access service.

The packages that are currently available are as follows:

City Broadband current bandwidth bank is 100Mbps from two (2) Malaysia’s Tier-1 ISPs via BGP and is delivered to the customers with relatively low contention ratio. Higher bandwidth if required is available upon request.

The high performance of City Broadband has garnered top spots among the ISPs in Malaysia for both “download” and “upload” speed tests as shown below:

The overall quality of City Broadband’s broadband Internet connection is highly reliable as shown on the screen shot below:

In line with the Malaysia government’s aspiration to see more broadband services throughout the country, we are also planning to expand the City Broadband services out of Cyberjaya. There is ample room growth as the broadband subscriber base in the country is still relatively low if compared to other developed Asian countries such as Korea, Singapore and Japan.

At present, City Broadband has expanded its services to Bangsar South Commercial at Bangsar South City, Kuala Lumpur with a direct 20Mbps Metro-E fiberoptic link to our Cyberjaya gateway.
